Commemorating Minnesota's Tragic Past & Hope for Healing

On June 30, the Minnesota Historical Society has opened its new exhibit on the United States - Dakota Indian War of 1862 and the repercussions of this six week battle at the Minnesota History Center.  On paper, the numbers of people who actively participated in warfare may not seem impressive to some, but to those whose families were affected forever, the exhibit hits on what is still raw in many minds 150 years later. {Photo Credit: Seige of New Ulm. Public domain. Painted by Henry August Schwabe}.

Rather than personally expounding my perceptions of the exhibit, I thought I'd simply share resources to learn more.  Explore.  Read.  Reflect.  Experience.  Support Dakota events.
This list is not complete or exhaustive but a good place to start...  (All programs are at the MN History Center unless marked with *).
